Business in The Spotlight: AB Weddings & Special Events
We’ve got a great new business for the spotlight this week: AB Weddings and Special Events! AB Weddings and Special Events is run by an impressive entrepreneur Arsineh Alenkin. She’s got a big heart and loves giving back; this is why AB Weddings and Special Events specialise in Charities and Non-Profits – which we at Recommendable think is awesome! Remember if you want to be in the spotlight you can apply here!
Tell us a bit about yourself?
My name is Arsineh Alenkin and I am an Event Planner in Los Angeles. I work for the Entertainment Industry and have planned numerous special events for clients. My specialty is Charities because I love to give back to the community and raise awareness and donations for the non-profit organizations. The reason why I am so passionate for helping out is because I can make a difference and so can the community.
What is your company all about?
AB Weddings & Special Events focuses on Planning/Coordination for the “Day Of” or “Full-Planning”, “Pamper Spa Parties” and more. AB Weddings & Special Events make every event memorable and special by catering to all occasions. We will work within our client’s budget and customize any event to meet their budget needs. We have preferred vendors that we work with that will provide the best service possible, but we will also incorporate or customise any event and work with other vendors if necessary.
AB Weddings & Special Events have sponsored several charity events such as JollyPeople Los Angeles. Recent events include: Green Is Glamorous (Toys For Tots Benefit), Emmy Gifting Suites, AFI Womens Showcase Premiere Party for “Death of Toys”, Pamper Me Fabulous, Here Comes the Guide, and F.A.M.E LA 2010 Gifting Lounge Party sponsored by Dennis Rodman clothing line and many more.
How important is what you do?
A couple of years ago in 2015 I started a group on Facebook called GigsLA. Being in this in this industry and working for special events for 14 years, I realized that people do not want to help each other out. By connecting with like-minded people you can gain knowledge and learn from each other. The point of my group is Connect, Network and take it to the next level. I started with 300 of my own connections and within a year it grew up to 9000+ industry members. From Actors, Producers, Directors to Artists, Musicians, Vendors and more. It’s a very active group and it has become a family friendly community. Every two months I plan a relaxing meet-up with members to meet one-on-one and see where we can help out. My vision is to make this a huge platform for people to feel comfortable and promote what they have. There are great talents that we do not know about and this group takes it there. I want to change the entertainment industry to more of a helping industry. We are all in this together!!
What kind of people do you think people make great entrepreneurs?
To be an Entrepreneur is a lot of work, sacrifice and dedication. If you have those three then you are headed in the right direction. Not everyone is an entrepreneur it has to come from your heart.
Why is word of mouth important to you as a business?
Word of Mouth is important for any businesses. It is important to me because you gain clients an build a great reputation. When people see how hard you work and you are good at it getting referrals helps your business a lot.
