Tell us a bit about you?
Hello, my names Jackson Pickard, I’m a Director of OxyOse Ltd a new oxygen infused health beverage, giving you ‘instant energy without the nasties.’ OxyOse aims to provide an alternative option for consumers who need that revitalising effect. However, don’t wish to be dependent on caffeine or sugar high drinks.
I’m also currently in my first year studying at Swansea University for a BSc in Business Management. During my time here, I have recently founded the Swansea University Entrepreneurs Network, which aims to encourage and develop student businesses or ideas to become successful start-ups. The society will also host a range of speakers and raise awareness of opportunities on offer to its members.
What is OxyOse all about?
OxyOse is an award-winning StartUp based out of London which combines fruit juice with 90%–95% pure oxygen. Our aim is to provide consumers with a great tasting drink united with an instant energy boost, without the negative side effects that come with your usual caffeine or sugar high beverages. We feel that the trends in consumer spending perfectly reflect our understanding of the market. The current trend is health, the rise in sales of bottled water and the fall of carbonates shows this, however, energy is king so to speak. After drawing these conclusions, it gives us focus on helping the nation to find that perfect healthy alternative offering the revitalising effect they desire. OxyOse fits the gap in the market perfectly, offering both low calorie with a great taste that will also provide the boost that your day needs.
Where are we now and how did we start?
OxyOse has developed over the years launching new vitamin-infused powders to double as our foaming agents. We have also progressed our machine to a 2 in 1 style and continue to discuss improvements with our manufacturer. This coincided with our vision progressing and pivoting to source our route to market. We have gone from pop-ups at Wimbledon Piazza to providing our delicious OxyOse to events such as Virgin’s VOOM, The Financial Times conferences and at PWC head offices. Named as the ‘next big trend’ by Drinks Outsider, OxyOse has had major interest from various investors and franchisees around the globe. Currently, a pop-up service OxyOse is working on launching the first permanent location producing our product in front of our costumers’ eyes. OxyOse has been successful in several competitions through the years, most recently Santander’s 250 pitch competition at Swansea University and will soon be entered in a national competition so keep your eyes peeled for more updates on our website or our other social media channels
What will the future hold?
Our initial aim is to create a flagship location which will serve our beverages to thousands and raise awareness of the concept. Alongside this our main goal is to secure franchise agreements, this will provide access to a much wider audience and help the concept to grow and advance. The results from this will be to help OxyOse grow organically with the long-term goal being the research and development of bottling the concept. A major project as oxygen hasn’t been bottled for a consumable product in this form before. We want to really put the oxygen infused concept in the forefront of consumers’ minds when they need a revitalising drink. The focus is to help customers maintain their current lifestyle but not to be affecting their long-term health in the way many currently are. Another future aim of OxyOse would be to go through a crowd funding campaign as this would create great exposure and further our timeline for achieving our goals.
What role does Word of mouth have in your expansion?
Word of mouth is key for OxyOse to continue to grow in the future. With the concept of pure oxygen infused beverages new to the market we as a company need to educate and raise simple awareness for this concept. Therefore, word of mouth is fantastic for us as we can grow using external resources. Word of mouth could also be pivotal for us to negotiate franchise agreements as increasing demand in new areas would provide greater incentives for locations to stock and serve OxyOse. Recommendable is perfect for us as it shines the light on our concept and will help us captivate our consumers’ minds, also word of mouth is a brilliant way to advertise and raise awareness for our next steps to create several franchise deals and to potentially follow through a large crowdfunding campaign.
